As told by my SEO agency ;-)

  1. Hold a kickoff meeting to define the goals and target group of the website. Include the webdesign agency for technical info.
  2. A nice and rigorous web site analysis on anything preventing crawlers from reading the website well – implementation of the analysis.
  3. Serious and deep digging for the correct search terms. Make a nice list based on your own insights, your competitor’s, run them through tools. Do some tests in Google Adwords to analyse popularity and conversion.
  4. Distribute the good keywords over the site, make sure the link structure is adapted and goes well and then also adapt html templates.
  5. Training: get a top notch training in link building and copywriting, to ensure you please both your audience that those all important crawlers. Keep updated by continuous reading.
  6. Measure, twig, measure, twig, improve, and so on….
  7. Not added by the agency: negotiate the fees… SEO is important, but so is your budget.
